Tom, born and raised in Virginia, and Marlene, a native of West Virginia, landed in Frederick County nearly three decades ago. They think owning three small businesses is almost as much fun as a rousing game of Tenzi or Pit.

Sacha was born and raised here in Frederick Maryland. Having grown up playing at The Bear and throughout downtown, they are very passionate about connecting with the community here. With a background in early childhood education they have been working with kids of all ages for over 12 years.

Judy is a fun personality to have on the team. She is currently at Hood College pursuing a math degree. She especially enjoys our crafts and stuffed animals! She is also an avid player of Slapzi, Itzi, and Rush Hour.

Emelia is a Frederick native who ventured off to Stevenson University and got a bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing! She loves working for the Bear and their sister store, Curious Iguana. She adores Jellycat, loves to read, and enjoys exploring Downtown Frederick.

Cat was raised here in Frederick, and is now raising her child here! People are her passion! Connecting with everyone who walks into the store is one of her favorite parts about the job, as well as getting to see and play with all the toys, of course!
